 Abstract:  The Indiana, Morgan Raid Commission was created by Indiana Governor O.P. Morton to investigate the losses or damages incurred by Indiana residents as a result of the Confederate raid led by General John H. Morgan in July, 1863 during the American Civil War. It was in session from April 4 to December 18, 1867. The collection consists of a journal containing the proceedings of this commission. Entries record specific details of each claim and indicate whether or not the commissioners approved it.
